Teak has long been the first choice for decking. With HLF, we have succeeded in developing an alternative that is in no way inferior to tropical wood in terms of slip resistance, look and feel.
Quite the opposite in fact! HLF continues to impress with its new, unique installation technology developed by us, the „HLF system adhesive“.
This is particularly suitable for large surfaces such as running decks on sailing ships. We produce complete mats based on the templates provided to us. You can either install the HLF mats yourself or contact one of our installation partners or a trusted boat service centre.

6 STEPS TO THE NEW DECK

The „system adhesive“ installation technique briefly explained

1. CREATE TEMPLATE

Measure, mark out and cut the template to size.
The template serves as a pattern for the production of the finished HLF marine mat
Please ask us for detailed instructions on how to create templates

2. PREPARATION OF THE DECK

Completely remove the old deck covering, if present
If necessary, level the surface with levelling compound (e.g. epoxy filler)
Sand the substrate
Finally, remove dust from the entire surface and degrease with isopropanol

3. APPLY SYSTEM ADHESIVE

Spread the system adhesive over the surface using the notched trowel provided

4. PLACE THE DECK

The rolled-up mat is gradually rolled into the adhesive bed
You can then align and position the mat precisely

5. ROLL ON THE DECK COVERING

Roll the new running deck with the pressure roller (included in the scope of delivery)
Press out any air bubbles from the side
Do not expose the new deck to direct sunlight for 12 hours
The deck should not be walked on for at least 48 hours. The adhesive must be allowed to dry completely

6. ENJOY HLF-MARINE!

OUR SYSTEM ADHESIVE

Our system adhesive is a surface adhesive that has been specially developed and tested for its suitability for our material together with one of the leading German adhesive manufacturers. It fulfils our requirements perfectly and has already proven itself reliably for several years.
The system adhesive is supplied to you together with the HLF-Marine deck covering in a tubular bag.
